Dandy Darkly is a satirist, storyteller and cabaret showman. He is "New York City's preeminent King of Halloween" (Out Magazine) whose body of work has been described as "fantastical fairytale horror, equal parts Tennessee Williams, Edgar Allen Poe and Bruce La Bruce" (Time Out London) and "a cross between Liberace and Tales from the Crypt." (The Scotsman). This "decidedly wicked storyteller" (New York Times) is "simply one of the most thoughtful, hilarious and harrowing queer talents at work today." (Scotsgay Magazine).

In 2015, Dandy sold out Under St. Marks Theater with his Fan Favorite award winning "Dandy Darkly's Pussy Panic!" This year, he's tickled as a pickle to return to the FRIGID Festival with his latest solo endeavor: "Dandy Darkly's Trigger Happy!"

Horrific and hysteric. Erotic and patriotic. "Dandy Darkly's Trigger Happy!" targets America in all her gory glory - sex, guns and gentrification! Stories featured in "Dandy Darkly's Trigger Happy!" include: Silver Dollar -- An American sniper struggles with PTSD as he hunts his hometown's homos 'cause only he knows the startling truth -- they're werewolves! Final Girl -- America's Sweetheart was found dead in her Hollywood mansion, but from low budget slashers to reality tv terrors, America's actual horrors are so much scarier than anything on the big screen. American Apparel -- Corporate cancer is killing our sacred spaces. Overnight another gay bar is gentrified. Can a defiant drag queen rat save the Imperial Poppycock Saloon from certain doom? The Ghosts of Stonewall -- A rallying cry to the next LGBTQ generation to snap the fuck out of it!

"Dandy Darkly's Trigger Happy!" was awarded the Bindlestiff First of May Award, making program possible, in part, by support from Bindlestiff Family Arts, Inc. and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs.

"Dandy Darkly's Trigger Happy!" is written and performed by Dandy Darkly. The show is directed by Ian Bjorklund and performed against a pre-recorded soundtrack composed and performed by musicians Adam Tendler (piano), Rachel Blumberg (percussion) Bryce Edwards (bass) and Jeffrey Underhill (guitar).

"Dandy Darkly's Trigger Happy!" is presented as part of the New York FRIGID Festival at Under St. Mark's Theater on the following dates: Tues. Feb. 16th at 7:10 pm, Sat. Feb. 20th at 8:50 pm, Tues. Feb. 23rd at 5:30pm, Fri. Mar. 4th at 10:30pm and Sun. Mar. 6th at 1:50 pm. Tickets are $15 or ($10 for student/senior.)
