Civic Theatre of Allentown Announces Auditions for 2009 Production of A Christmas Carol

Auditions for Civic Theatre of Allentown's 2009 production of A Christmas Carol will be held on October 3rd and 20th in the rehearsAl Hall at Civic's 19th Street Theatre.

The auditions to be held on Saturday, October 3rd will be for children: kids ages five to nine will audition on at 1:30pm while kids ages ten and up will audition at 4:00pm. Any teenager that wishes to audition for the role of an adult should attend the adult audition on the 20th instead of the audition on the 3rd.

Adult auditions will take place on Tuesday, October 20th, 2009 at 7:00pm.

Please note that the children's auditions have been moved from the 17th, as originally announced on the Civic website, to the 3rd.

The 2009 production of A Christmas Carol marks the 20th anniversary since Civic started producing the classic Charles Dickens tale annually. Civic Artistic Director William Sanders, who was behind the drive to make this show an annual affair, will be incorporating aspects from many of the past shows while adding some new twists. Barry Glassman will play Scrooge, marking his sixth time in the role. Reunions of past cast members are also planned.

A Christmas Carol: the 20th Anniversary production will run from December 4th through the 20th, with student matinees on the 8th, 9th, 15th and 16th.
