Chris Colfer has broken his silence in the wake of the tragic death of his Glee co-star and friend Cory Monteith, who passed away earlier this month from an accidental drug overdose.

Colfer took to his Instagram yesterday, sharing an old photo of himself and Monteith (left) taken during a TV interview. Along with the sentimental image, the actor wrote: "I'll never forget all the laughs we shared or the faces we made after awkward interview questions. Love and miss you, buddy."

Colfer is best known for his role of Kurt Hummel on the FOX musical drama for which he won Best Supporting Actor in a Series, Miniseries or Television Film at the 2011 Golden Globe Awards as well as 2010 and 2011 Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. He is also a New York Times number-one bestselling author and publisher of Struck by Lightning and The Wishing Spell (The Land of Stories).

GLEE returns for its fifth season on September 26th on FOX.
