Broadway favorites Chita Rivera, Vanessa Hudgens and Paula Abdul, along with Derek and Julianne Hough, have teamed up with I'm a Dancer Against Cancer, a non-profit organization providing support to dancers, families and dance educators dealing with cancer.

"The way you move directly affects the way you feel, and that's what dancing has done for me,"Derek Hough tells PEOPLE.

People.com has shared photos from a PSA shoot leading up to the organization's Industry Dance Awards in August.

"When someone you love has cancer, it's a very hard thing to deal with for them and for you, but the thing that honestly got me through it was my community that I was surrounded by," says Hudgens.

About I'M A DANCER AGAINST CANCER:

The "I'm A Dancer Against Cancer" campaign was founded in 2012 to spread awareness and raise donations for cancer fighting charities. It quickly became a sign of hope and unity in the dance community.

In 2013, the Dancers Against Cancer charity and Circle of Hope Foundation was created to provide financial support to dance educators, dancers and parents impacted by cancer. To date, this charity has proudly raised $500K in donations and has assisted many dancers in need.

The Dancers Against Cancer charity and Circle of Hope Foundation is grateful for the support of the dance community and will continue to make a difference to keep the HOPE alive! http://imadanceragainstcancer.org.
