On Monday, December 13th at 8pm, Charles Busch will star in a one-night-only staged reading of his perennial holiday classic Times Square Angel at Theatre For The New City, 155 First Avenue (between 9th and 10th Streets).  Busch is the Tony-nominated author of the hit Broadway comedy The Tale of the Allergist's Wife and legendary drag star of such cult films as "Psycho Beach Party" and "Die Mommie Die."

Times Square Angel was first performed in 1984 and has been brought back nearly every holiday season since.  An homage to such films as "It's A Wonderful Life," "The Bishop's Wife" and "The Big Street," Times Square Angel is set in the Damon Runyonesque world of 1940's New York.  Busch plays tough-as-nails nightclub chanteuse, Irish O'Flanagan, who learns a doozy of a lesson during one jam-packed Christmas Eve.

The play will be directed by long-time Busch collaborator, Carl Andress, and features two original members of Busch's fabled theatre company, Andy Halliday and Theresa Aceves.  Also in the large cast are Busch stalwarts Carl Andress, David Staller, Flotilla DeBarge, A.J. Vincent, Marcy McGuigan, Jackie Sanders, Peter Borzotta, Sidney Myer, Larry Bullock and Sean Monahan.  Costumes are by Michael Bottari and Ronald Case.  Tickets are $25.  Reservations can be made by calling 212-254-1109.
