Go Green at the Staten Island Children's Museum

Shenanigans with Pat & Mike
Irish Drumming and Guitar playing. Mike and Pat will discuss the history of Irish music, introduce some instruments like the bodrhan (a traditional Irish drum), spoons (used on the thigh) and will also play a variety of traditional tunes. Join us and sing-a-long.
Saturday, March 13 at 2 p.m.

Potato Prints
Grab a spud, incise your design and stamp away. Potato printing is a fun activity for kids and a great way to introduce them to the craft of stamping. Kids will be creating their own stamp.
Saturdays & Sundays - March 13 & 14. Workshops begin at 1, 2 & 3 p.m.

Green Clay Day
On St. Patrick's Day, dig your hands into some Kelly green clay. Sculpting might include some leprechauns, shamrocks, and maybe a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
Wednesday, March 17th at 1:30 - 4:30 p.m.

The Zoo Too! - Our friends from the Staten Island Zoo will visit with a zoo friend you won't find in Ireland! Can you guess which animal that is?.
Saturday - March 20 at 2 p.m.

Health Plus Kidz Cook - Irish - Join the cooking leprechauns-
On, Fridays we will be cooking Irish!
March 5 - Irish Oatmeal Cookies
March 12 - Irish Tea and Bread
March 19 - Champ - Potatoes & Onions
March 26 - Potato Stew
Cooking begins at 2, 3 & 4 p.m.

Wednesday, Thursday & Friday - WIW programs are free with Museum admission.
Clay Day-Wednesdays- Aspiring sculptors can create works of art with special air-dry clay.
Paint Day - Thursdays - Picasso may have started like this!
Kidz Cook- Fridays- Future chefs practice recipes and sample some fancy food.

While at the Museum, families can visit hands-on, fabulous interactive exhibits: Block Harbor, The Big Game, Bugs and Other Insects, Great Explorations, Portia's Playhouse, Sea of Boats, Ladder 11, D.B.'s Fantastic Machines & House About It! and more! Museum Hours are noon - 5 p.m. when NYCity public schools are open and 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. when NYCity public schools are closed (including weekends).

Admission is $6 per person; children under 1 and members are admitted free. Every day, join Animal Time when youngsters can assist our educators in caring for our birds, bugs, fish and guinea pig. Telling tales out of school is okay everyday when visitors hear stories from around the world. Grandparents are admitted free on Wednesdays. The SI Children's Museum is located at Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Garden, 1000 Richmond Terrace, just minutes away from the Clove Road exit off the Staten Island Expressway. Call for directions. There is ample free parking and convenient access via public transportation on the S40 bus from the Ferry Terminal.
