Various NYC casting offices and members of the entertainment industry will be participating in the August 8th edition of SCENES AND SONGS FOR SCHOOL SUPPLIES. Coordinated by various members of the Casting Society of America, SCENES... is a charity event to benefit First Day NY (http://www.firstdayny.org/), a 501c3 organization that works to make sure children living in NYC shelters have everything they need to get a great start on their first day of school.

Participants sign up for a slot to present a monologue or a 32-bar cut of a song of their choosing for a panel of various NYC casting directors, agents, and managers; as well as directors, music directors, and choreographers.

The event is open to anyone who wants to participate - school supply donations in exchange for actor participation are greatly appreciated, but not required.

Past incarnations have included guests from Telsey + Co., Tara Rubin Casting, Jim Carnahan Casting, Book of Mormon Casting, Stewart/Whitley, Manhattan Theatre Club Casting, Barden/Schnee Casting, Marc Hirschfeld Casting, CAA, Innovative Artists Agency, The Mine, Harden-Curtis Associates, Stone Manners Salners, Take 3 Talent Agency, CESD Talent Agency, The Talent House, If/Then, Kinky Boots, and more.
