Melissa Errico: Back to Barbra at 54 Below
May 27 to 29 @ 7 pm
After the critical triumph of The Streisand Effect, her homage to the great Barbra last fall, Melissa Errico returns with a new edition of the show – but this one blessed with the presence of the great piano-man and singer Billy Stritch, a Streisand favorite and a frequent Errico stage husband. Once again, the music of their shared collaborators and mentors, the Legrands and the Bergmans and Sondheim and the standards will ring out. But this time Melissa and Billy will go “back-to-back” in their appreciations of the Streisand songbook, in a joyful series of duets, conversations, witty entanglements and just wonderful music making.

Finding Dorothy Parker at The Laurie Beechman
May 28-29; June 19-20 @ 7 pm
Dorothy Parker was the razor-sharp wit of the Roaring Twenties, a cocktail-sipping literary firecracker who made her mark with her words and her style. Parker’s dazzling wit graced the pages of Vanity Fair (where she was a staff writer and theater critic), The New Yorker (where she was one of its earliest contributors), Vogue, Life, The Saturday Evening Post, and her short stories, poems, and reviews have been collected into several books. Whether she was penning scathing reviews, unforgettable one-liners, or melancholic poetry, Parker’s unapologetic brilliance and biting humor made her a legend. Dorothy Parker - An intoxicating mix of biting social commentary and campy fabulousness that continues to sparkle like a glass of champagne. Finding Dorothy Parker is a sparkling revue and whirlwind tour of Dorothy Parker’s hilarious and wise material performed by some of the funniest women on Broadway: Andrea Burns, Julie Halston, Jackie Hoffman, and Anika Larsen

La Tanya Hall at Birdland
May 30 at 5:30 pm
La Tanya’s voice has been described as “powerfully sensuous,” “a show stealer” and “beautifully musical” in a number of reviews from around the world. And her Stage Presence has been touted as “brilliant” and “extremely engaging.” As one review, Stephen Mosher from BBW magazine, so aptly stated, “On empowered, emboldened display are talent, musical vocabulary, and emotional range with crystal clear intentions. Some singers can bring all the feelings to the lyrics they sing, but this singer takes all those emotions and channels them into every vocalise. Listeners, prepare to be hypnotized. La Tanya Hall is like an enticing but elusive guest at your cocktail party - fascinating, interesting, and leaning against the wall as every other guest comes to her, spellbound by sheer star power.”
Tickets: Tickets start at $35.46 including fees. There is a $20 food/drink minimum per person.
