Waitress

It's official! Tony Award nominee Jeremy Jordan will take over the role of Dr. Pomatter on April 8 and will perform opposite Shoshana Bean as Jenna through May 12. As previously announced, Joey McIntyre will play his final performances on April 7.

BroadwayWorld first reported the news after the official Waitress Twitter account posted a not-so-secret clue as to who the next Dr. Pomatter would be!

Jeremy Jordan is making his return to the musical stage after recently starring opposite Kerry Washington in the provocative Broadway play, American Son. Other Broadway credits: Newsies (Tony, Grammy and Drama Desk nominations), Bonnie & Clyde (Theatre World Award), West Side Story, Rock of Ages. TV: Winn Schott in "Supergirl," Jimmy Collins in "Smash," "The Flash," "Law and Order: SVU." Film: The Last 5 Years opposite Anna Kendrick, Joyful Noise with Queen Latifah and Dolly Parton, Newsies. Jeremy can also be heard as the voice of Varian on Disney Channel's animated series, "Tangled." Follow @JeremyMJordan for all concert and music updates.

Waitress tells the story of Jenna, a Waitress and expert pie-maker who dreams of a way out of her small town and rocky marriage. Pouring her heart into her pies, she crafts desserts that mirror her topsy-turvy life such as "?The Key (Lime) to Happiness Pie" and "Betrayed By My Eggs Pie." When a baking contest in a nearby county - and a satisfying run-in with someone new - show Jenna a chance at a fresh start, she must find the courage to seize it. Change is on the menu, as long as Jenna can write her own perfectly personal recipe for happiness.

Waitress currently stars Shoshana Bean, Charity Angel Dawson, Lenne Klingaman, Joey McIntyre, Ben Thompson, Larry Marshall, Benny Elledge, Eddie Jemison, Melody A. Betts, Tyrone Davis Jr., Andrew Fitch, Molly Hager, Jessie Hooker-Bailey, Arica Jackson, Molly Jobe, Brandon Kalm, Matt Kumangai, Tess Murphy, Everleigh Rotunno, Stephanie Torns and Dan Tracy.

Waitress opened April 24, 2016 at Broadway's Brooks Atkinson Theatre (256 West 47th Street). Based upon the 2007 motion picture written by Adrienne Shelly, Waitress is the first Broadway musical in history to have four women in the four top creative team spots, with a book by Jessie Nelson, a score by six-time Grammy Award-nominated singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles, choreography by Lorin Latarro and direction by Tony Award-winner Diane Paulus.

Waitress began performances in London's West End on February 8 and is currently on a North American tour.
