COLLABORATOR to Make Edinburgh Fringe Debut with Ockham's Razor
Alex Harvey and Charlotte Mooney perform the intimate duet at Gilded Balloon following its MimeLondon premiere.
After an acclaimed world premiere of Collaborator at MimeLondon 2026, Ockham's Razor return to the Fringe for the first time since 2019 with this intimate duet, crafted and performed by Artistic Directors Alex Harvey and Charlotte Mooney.
For over two decades they have been making circus together: lifting, catching and carrying; stepping on and around each other. Featuring these two performers, a suspended metal frame and a stage, Collaborator is an irreverent, highly physical and heartfelt dive into the negotiations involved in making something: a decision, a work of art, a life. It celebrates creation, compromise and enduring partnership.
Collaborator explores the trials and tribulations of working with another person. After decades of creating large-scale ensemble works and touring internationally, this marks a significant moment for Ockham's Razor, bringing the focus back to the essential creative relationship between its two founders. The performance offers a distilled expression of their shared history, artistic trust and the many decisions, compromises and collaborations that have shaped their practice.
Charlotte and Alex comment, This new intimate duet is for anyone who has ever tried to make something with someone else: a decision, a work of art, a life. For years we have been dropped and have picked each other up, and we're looking forward to exploring this trust with Fringe audiences once again.
Although Collaborator is their story, you may find it is yours too showing the shared understanding of the balance, trust and frustration that shape any partnership. Performances will run from August 6-22.
