CBS Airs Tyler's 'Eye on the Tony Awards' Special, 6/12

CBS 2's Dana Tyler hosts "Eye on the Tony Awards," a half-hour special taking a look at the Broadway shows nominated for the annual Tony Awards. This special will air on CBS 2 Saturday, June 12, 2010, at 7:30PM. The show focuses on this year's best new musicals and plays, newly revived productions, and interviews with world renowned actors such as Denzel Washington (Fences) and Catherine Zeta-Jones (A Little Night Music).

Tyler showcases interviews and clips from Hollywood heavyweights who transitioned from screen to stage and are nominated in the upcoming Tonys, including Kelsey Grammer (La Cage aux Folles), Christopher Walken (A Behanding in Spokane), Jude Law (Hamlet), and Sean Hayes (Promises, Promises), among others. Rejuvenated musicals and plays are also showcased in the special including Fences, which received 11 nominations and the most for any revival play ever; La Cage aux Folles, nominated for 11 awards; A Little Night Music, nominated for 4 awards; Ragtime, nominated for 6 awards; and Finians Rainbow, nominated for 3 awards.

CBS 2 reporters Megan Glaros and Katie McGee highlight the nominations for Best Musical and Best Play. Watch as they unveil one-on-one interviews of the several nominated performers, talented choreographers, and legendary lyricists from these productions.

Don't forget to watch the live broadcast of the Annual Tony Awards on CBS Network, Sunday, June 13th beginning at 8:00pm.
