Oh my goodness gracious, Tony-winner Laura Benanti is joining the cast of NASHVILLE tonight! Did you really think that wouldn't be a "But, Wait! What's on TV Tonight" pick tonight? Though her apperance is just one small scene tonight, my NASHVILLE inside source (ok Laura told me herself!) told me to expect a big Sadie Stone episode in two weeks. We've also Laura's NASHVILLE co-star WIll Chase's real-life lady love and the most adorable woman on stage or screen chatting it up with Letterman.

Every day, BWW TV World will bring you a handful of picks from across the TV landscape. So, if you have nothing to do each night, check in with us, and we will tell you the best ways to spend your primetime hours.

THE MYSTERIES OF LAURA | 8:00-9:00pm | NBC
Though I am extremely hesitant about this show, which NPR's Linda Holmes has dubbed MOMCOP COPMOM, one of our recappers, Dylan Siegman, says that he has been really drawn in by the first two episodes. He tells me that Debra Messing is hilarious and as layered as one would expect. He even says that the crime scene investigation stuff is actually really well written and surprising at times. I am 99.9% sure that this show isn't for me, but I might have to give it a try. But if Messing's not wearing a scarf in the first scene, I'm done!

NASHVILLE | 10:00-11:00pm | ABC

Also, check back with BWW TV World later today for my conversation with the Tony-winner about being cast on her favorite show.

STALKER | 10:00-11:00pm | CBS
Let's play a game. It's called, "Which new network show will be cancelled first?" If it were based on quality, I would say the trifecta would be MANHATTAN LOVE STORY to show, BAD JUDGE to place, and STALKER to run away with the title. However, a funny thing happens when a show airs on CBS, especially dark, crime procedurals; people watch. So, will the horrificness of STALKER overtake the demographic that fell asleep ¾ of the way through CRIMINAL MINDS, but left the TV on? We'll just have to wait and see!

(Editor's Note: This blurb was authored by our Chief TV Critic Matt Tamanini. Please address all complaints to him.)

LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN | 11:35pm-12:35am | CBS
I used to love Letterman. I would turn him on after THE DAILY SHOW every night and flip between him and Colbert. However, since Jimmy Fallon took over THE TONIGHT SHOW, I have barely even visited Dave. I feel badly about that. However, tonight I just might have to stop by, as the original star of Broadway's ONCE (and now the "totes adorbs" A-TO-Z on NBC) Cristin Miloti will be chatting with Dave.

Viewer Warning: Bill O'Rielly is Dave's first guest, so you might want to flip over at about 12:15am.

So, what are you gonna be watching tonight? What's getting DVRed, and what's get left behind? Let us know in the comments below or on social media.
