According to The Hollywood Reporter, a number of Hollywood stars will headline a new independent film based on a screenplay by Tennessee Williams (The Glass Menagerie, A Streetcar Named Desire, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof).

Produced by Constellation Entertainment, The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond will star theatre veterans Ellen Burstyn and David Strathairn, as well as Lindsay Lohan, Ann-Margret and Chris Evans.

Set in '20s Memphis, it will feature Lohan as an unconventional plantation owner's daughter.  The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond was published as part of the 1984 Williams collection Stopped Rocking and Other Screenplays.  The movie will begin filming next year.

The Roundabout Theatre Company is currently presenting a revival of Williams' Suddenly Last Summer, which is now in previews Off-Broadway.
