Bryan Batt to Receive HRC's Equality Award, May 19

The Louisiana Chapter of the Human Rights Campaign will present Broadway star Bryan Batt with its Equality Award at a gala dinner on May 19th. The event will take place at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in New Orleans.

The event will feature Alec Mapa and Joe Solmonese as special guests, and will be emceed by Helena Moreno.  In addition to actor, designer and activist Batt, Julie Thompson (President, PFLAG New Orleans) will be honored by the Human Rights Campaign.

Bryan Batt has appeared in nine Broadway productions, as well as over a dozen plays Off-Broadway, in Los Angeles and in regional theatre. He has played Munkustrap in Cats and Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast, among other roles.  He was most recently seen on Broadway in La Cage aux Folles.  Batt has also appeared on several television shows including 'Rescue Me', 'Law and Order: Criminal Intent' and 'The Cosby Show.'
