June is here, and with it are new streaming titles and returning theater favorites. Broadway fans can kick off the summer with chillier weather this month, courtesy of the new West End proshot coming to Disney+ on June 20. The production was filmed during the recent London run and stars Samantha Barks, Laura Dawkes, and more.

The Gilded Age is also returning for its third season, with a slew of Broadway stars to boot, including Kelli O’Hara, Christine Baranski, Nathan Lane, Brian Stokes Mitchell, and current Tony nominee Audra McDonald, to name just a few. And of course, this month marks the 78th Tony Awards. Aside from TV, June is a stacked month for Broadway music, both cast recordings and otherwise. Along with hosting the Tonys, Cynthia Erivo will release her second studio album on June 6. The end of the month will see a new duets album from music icon Barbra Streisand featuring collaborations with such artists as Josh Groban, Ariana Grande, and Mariah Carey.

Theatre TV & Film

Center Stage (Now, Paramount+)

Just in time for its 25th anniversary, this dance flick comes to Paramount+ this month. Center Stage follows a group of New York City ballet students working within the competitive world of professional dance, where they must devote themselves to their art with the rigor of Olympic athletes. While experiencing the joys, sorrows, and conflicts of youth, they vie for a place in the prestigious American Ballet Academy and strive to take center stage. The movie stars Amanda Schull and Zoe Saldãna, along with Broadway alums such as Donna Murphy, Peter Gallagher, and Debra Monk. Check it out here.

Mamma Mia! (Now, Peacock)

Based on the Broadway musical, Mamma Mia! tells the story of a bride-to-be trying to find her real father using hit songs by the popular 1970s band ABBA. The movie, along with its sequel, stars Meryl Streep, Julie Walters, Christine Baranski, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, Amanda Seyfried, Dominic Cooper, and more. The Producers (Now, Peacock)

Based on the Broadway musical, which itself was based on Mel Brooks' 1967 film, The Producers stars Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick as an unlikely pair of theatrical producers who scheme to get rich by overselling interests in a Broadway flop. Complications arise when the show unexpectedly turns out to be successful. The movie also stars Uma ThurmanWill FerrellGary BeachRoger Bart, and Jon Lovitz. Tony Award-winner Susan Stroman directs. Phineas and Ferb Season 5 (June 6, Disney+)

The hit Disney Channel series is returning this month, and will also be available to stream on Disney+. In this season, Phineas, Ferb and the crew tackle another 104 days of summer and are set for exciting new adventures featuring some unforgettable milestones. The boys will break several world records, Candace will take her driver’s license test, and Perry will finally make a trip to the vet. Featuring original songs, the voice cast includes Tony Award-winner Alan Cumming, Michael Bublé, and more.

The 78th Annual Tony Awards (June 8, Paramount+)

The 78th Annual Tony Awards will return to Radio City Music Hall in New York City on June 8. Hosted by Tony, Emmy, and GRAMMY Award-winner and three-time Oscar nominee Cynthia Erivo, the ceremony will broadcast at 8:00 – 11:00 PM ET/5:00 – 8:00 PM PT on the CBS Television Network, and will stream on Paramount+ in the U.S. for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers.

Additionally, Darren Criss and Renée Elise Goldsberry will host THE TONY AWARDS: ACT ONE, a live pre-show with exclusive content that is available to viewers for free on the free streaming service Pluto TV beginning Sunday, June 8 at 6:40 - 8:00 PM ET/3:40 - 5:00 PM PT. 

Drive-Away Dolls (June 12, Peacock)

Drive-Away Dolls, Ethan Coen's road trip comedy, will be returning to Peacock beginning June 12. The film features an all-star cast with Broadway alums Beaie Feldstein and Colman Domingo, along with Margaret Qualley, Geraldine Viswanathan, Matt DamonPedro Pascal and Bill Camp.

Frozen (June 20, Disney+)

Following an announcement at D23 Expo last year, the filmed capture from the West End production of Disney's Frozen will be making its way to Disney+ this month. Adapted from the hit animated film, the stage work is told in two acts, expanding upon and deepening the original plot with new songs and story material.

With music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, book by Jennifer Lee, and directed by Michael Grandage, the cast includes Samantha Barks as Elsa and Laura Dawkes as Anna, along with Jammy Kasongo, Craig Gallivan, Oliver Ormson, and Richard Frame. The West End production opened at Theatre Royal Drury Lane in August 2021, receiving 4 Olivier Award nominations, including Best New Musical. 

The Gilded Age Season 3 (June 22, Max)

HBO will release the third season of The Gilded Age on Sunday, June 22 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. Starring Broadway alums Audra McDonald, Kelli O'Hara, Cynthia Nixon, Christine Baranski, Carrie Coon, and more, the series will also be available to stream on Max.  

The American Gilded Age was a period of immense economic and social change, when empires were built, but no victory came without sacrifice. BOOP! The Musical Original Broadway Cast Recording (June 6) 

BOOP! The Musical will release its original Broadway Cast Recording on June 6. With 20 tracks by composer David Foster and lyricist Susan Birkenhead, the recording features Jasmine Amy Rogers as Betty Boop and Tony Award-winner Faith Prince as Valentina, Ainsley Melham as Dwayne, Erich Bergen as Raymond Demarest, Stephen DeRosa as Grampy, Anastacia McCleskey as Carol Evans, Angelica Hale as Trisha, Phillip Huber as Pudgy the Dog, and Aubie Merrylees as Oscar Delacorte. Real Women Have Curves Original Broadway Cast Recording (June 6) 

The full cast recording of Real Women Have Curves: The Musical is set to make its streaming debut on June 6. The musical features music and lyrics by Grammy Award-winning artist Joy Huerta and composer/lyricist Benjamin Velez. In the show, Ana Garcia dreams of flying away from East Los Angeles. But when her family receives a make-or-break order for 200 dresses, Ana finds herself juggling her own ambitions, her mother’s expectations, and a community of women all trying to make it work against the odds. Cynthia Erivo- I Forgive You (June 6)

Cynthia Erivo's second studio album, I Forgive You, will be available on June 6th. In her initial announcement, the Tony winner said: "Over the last 2+ years, between all the flights, the filming, the interviews, and the awards shows, I went to the studio with my dear friend Will Wells and created this project for you and me. This album, this collection of songs, is something I’m so proud to share with you." Listen to a single from it now.

F*ck7thGrade Off-Broadway Cast Recording (June 6) 

The Drama Desk-nominated musical F*ck 7th Grade, written by the late singer-songwriter Jill Sobule, will release its official cast recording on June 6. An adolescent queer romance cascading into a brief rise to pop stardom, the acclaimed musical is a memoir examining how we never really get out of middle school. After premiering at New York City’s Wild Project Theater in 2022, the show was rebooted in the Winter of 2023 and again in 2024. The Secret Of Life: Partners, Volume Two- Barbra Streisand (June 27)

The latest album from the legendary Barbra Streisand will hit music streamers this month. The Secret Of Life: Partners, Volume Two features the performer on a variety of new duets with Josh Groban, Laufey, Paul McCartney, Hozier, and more. The album also includes "One Heart, One Voice," its only trio, in which Streisand is joined by Wicked star Ariana Grande and Mariah Carey.
