Birdland Hosts A Salute To Dre.Dance 8/1

The Broadway at Birdland series is proud to present "A Salute To Dre.Dance" on Monday, August 1 at 7pm.

In 2005, childhood friends Taye Diggs and Andrew Palermo founded dre.dance, a NYC-based contemporary dance company which has been hailed by the New York Times and other publications as ‘powerful," "athletic," "gifted," "passionate," "propulsive," "unexpected," "weird," "abstract," and "wonderful." As the company begins it's seventh season, Taye and Andrew's Broadway friends pay musical tribute to dre.dance and the two men who founded it.

The evening is chaired by Laura Benanti, and stars Eden Espinosa (Brooklyn, Wicked), Jad Abumrad (NPR's "Radiolab"), Julia Murney (Wicked), Tony Yazbeck (Gypsy, A Chorus Line), Telly Leung ("Glee"), Katy Pfaffl (War Horse), Jessica Hendy (Aida), and Michael John LaChiusa (composer/The Wild Party, Hello, Again).
