New York's very own alternative circus is back! The Bindlestiff Family Cirkus returns to New York City's Connelly Theater (220 East 4th Street, NYC) with an extended run of their latest production, A Cardboard & Duct Tape Spectacular, after its successful 2016 premiere. Bindlestiff's terrifically talented troupe of acrobats, aerialists, jugglers, sideshow marvels, vaudevillians, musicians, adhesion specialists and corrugated engineers will present twelve performances from May 4 - 14 and tickets are on sale now.

Led by co-founders Stephanie Monseu and Keith Nelson, the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus continues to reimagine classic American circus tradition with a distinctive contemporary approach. Spectacle Magazine had high praise for A Cardboard & Duct Tape Spectacular saying it was, "imaginative... delightfully clever... the show exudes a warmth and affection... all but irresistible." This whimsical presentation of spectacular simplicity celebrates a do-it-yourself ethic and breaks the cirkus down to its most basic elements - discovery, risk and joy.

In A Cardboard & Duct Tape Spectacular, the Bindlestiffs are always ready to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary. The power to make dreams into reality is rooted in their own childhood experiences of fun, when an empty cardboard box could unleash the power of imagination. This back to basics production mixes aerial performance, contortion, juggling, clowning, comedy, live original music, and more in a show that will leave audiences both amazed and amused.

Featured alongside the multi-talented Bindlestiff co-founders are contortionist/aerialist Miss Ekaterina, prop manipulator Adam Kuchler, and pole performer Ivory Fox. Composer and musical director Peter Bufano leads a trio of musicians who weave a soundscape for the experience.

A New York City institution for alternative circus arts since 1995, the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus has traveled the world to bring its unique hybrid of vaudeville, circus, burlesque and sideshow to theaters, clubs, colleges and festivals, along with over a dozen Off and Off Off Broadway shows. More than 400 circus and variety arts stars have stepped into the spotlight under the Bindlestiff banner, including featured acts from the biggest circuses in the world, internationally renowned street performers and local legends. Come one, come all and get your tickets now for the Cirkus!
