Bill T. Jones and Carrie Mae Weems Set for PUBLIC, PRIVATE, POLITICAL? Talk at New York Live Arts

Accompanying the performances of Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company's Analogy Trilogy Parts I & II, presented at The Joyce Theater, will be a conversation with MacArthur Genius Award and National Medal of Arts recipient Bill T. Jones and renowned multi-media artist Carrie Mae Weems, moderated by the Director of the Columbia Center for Oral History Research Mary Marshall Clark.

The "Public, Private, Political?" conversation will focus on investigating relationships, cultural identity, responsibility and the artist's relationship to social consciousness. Bill T. Jones and Carrie Mae Weems will discuss the politics of art making and the specificity of the personal that takes on unexpected resonances, sometimes political.
