With February school break right around the corner the question of what to do with the kids is a common dilemma for many parents. Bay Street makes it easy as School Vacation Theatre Camp returns for both the February and March school breaks.

Bay Street's KIDS SCHOOL VACATION THEATRE CAMP will run from February 15 - 19 and again for the spring break in March from March 29 - April 2, 9am - 3pm daily. Each week-long session will include classes and games incorporating every aspect of theatre including acting, singing, improvisation, dance and more. This is a special opportunity for kids to explore their passion in theatre arts as they write and perform in their own mini-musical! Taught by Broadway professionals, Theatre Camp is perfect for both experienced theater kids and novices alike.

Back by popular demand, both camp sessions will be led by Debra Barsha. Debra is a professional teacher as well as Broadway performer and musician. She is the current pianist, singer and Assistant Conductor of Broadway's Jersey Boys. During Theater Camp, Ms. Barsha is famous for drawing out the strengths of each child while helping students explore their likes and dislikes of the performing arts. "I tell the kids in theater class that there is no such thing as a mistake. It's one of the only places in their lives they will ever hear that. As long as you are in character, you are allowed to be and do anything you want!", says Debra.

Theatre Camp is recommended for children ages 8 to 12 years old. The cost for one-week is $350 per child. Students are required to bring a bag lunch and snack and have a willingness to learn. Class size is limited and fills up quickly. The deadline for enrollment is February 5th, space permitting. Call Bay Street's administrative office at 631-725-0818 x110 to sign up today.

Once school is back in session, Bay Streets' new KIDS AFTERSCHOOL CLASSES will resume with classes in music, theatre, improv and multi-media to be offered. Visit www.baystreet.org for details.

While Bay Street's box office is closed, more information on any of the camps or classes above may be found at www.baystreet.org or by calling the administrative offices at 631-725-0818 x110.
