Stars & stripes, Joy Behar, fireworks, and Darrell Hammond... What do they all have in common? Fourth of July weekend fun on the Long Wharf in Sag Harbor! Two special performances with comic favorites Joy Behar and Darrell Hammond will kick off Bay Street's 2010 Summer Comedy Club over the holiday weekend.
Although Joy Behar's July 3rd performance is sold out, comedy lovers can catch Bay Street favorite Darrell Hammond on Monday, July 5th at 8pm. Best known as the longest-running cast member of "Saturday Night Live", Hammond has appeared at Bay Street to rave reviews before -- in the 2008 Mainstage Production of Christopher Durang's BEYOND THERAPY where he played the zany and psychotic therapist, as well as in two sold-out stand-up performances. This summer, in addition to his July 5th comedy act, Darrell Hammond will return in August to play the Baliff in the Mainstage production of David Mamet's courtroom farce, ROMANCE.On SNL, Hammond's impressions brought to life a cavalcade of politicians, media figures, celebrities and newsmakers, including John McCain, Bill Clinton, Al Gore, Dick Cheney, Sean Connery, Regis Philbin, Donald Trump and Dan Rather. Although retired from the show since last year, Darrell continues to make guest appearances on NBC's late night weekend favorite, as well as CBS' "Late Show with David Letterman" and NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno."Photo Credit: Linda Lenzi
