Bard SummerScape has announced its lineup for the 2010 festival season, which will be held at Bard College's campus in Annandale-on-Hudson, in New York. The festival runs from July 8 through August 22.

Dance

Trisha Brown Dance Company
Opening SummerScape this year is the "invariably sensuous, always interesting" Trisha Brown Dance Company, performing one of the iconic choreographer's newest dances along with several of the renowned works she created with the visual artist Robert Rauschenberg.

July 8, 9, and 10 at 8 pm

Theater

Judgment Day
This thrilling 1937 drama was written in Nazi-ruled Berlin by Ödön von Horváth, one of the most talented playwrights of his generation.

Opera

The Distant Sound (Der ferne Klang)
The first staged production in North America of Franz Schreker's glorious 1910 opera.

Chamber Opera

The Chocolate Soldier
Oscar Straus's delightful 1908 operetta is an adaptation of George Bernard Shaw's Arms and the Man.

Bard Music Festival

Berg and His World
August 13-15 and August 20-22, 2010
Performances, panel discussions, preconcert talks, and films examine the music and world of the influential Austrian composer Alban Berg (1885-1935).

An intriguing series of German expressionism and American film noir.

Spiegeltent: Afternoon Family Fare
Entertainment of every stripe for audiences of all ages by singers, dancers, puppeteers, magicians, and combinations thereof-including the crowd-pleasing Bindlestiff Family Cirkus.

Cabaret
Spiegeltent: Evening Cabaret
Colorful entertainment with a downtown edge! Friday and Saturday evenings at the Spiegeltent are dedicated to cabaret for hip audiences.
Friday and Saturday at 8:30 pm

SpiegelClub

SpiegelClub offers a late-night bar and dance floor with New York City and local Hudson Valley DJs spinning a variety of tunes on a state-of-the-art sound and lighting system.
Friday and Saturday, 10 pm (tent closes at 1 am)
$5 admission (pay at the door; waived for SummerScape ticket holders, 21+ only)

Live Music

Spiegeltent: Thursday Night Live
Hosted by WKZE Radio Archaeology DJ Raissa St. Pierre, Thursday Night Live features an eclectic range of live music-honky tonk, country sounds, African music, art rock-by performers from as far as Timbuktu and as close as the Catskills.
Thursdays, 8:30 pm (tent closes at 11 pm)
$10 (pay at the door)

Dining

Dine at the Spiegeltent
Casual summer fare, à la carte-burgers from the grill, fresh salads, gourmet ice cream, microbrewed beer, local wine, and more, sourced locally whenever possible.
Lunch: Saturday and Sunday, 1-3 pm
Dinner: Thursday through Sunday, 5:30-8 pm
