Baratunde Thurston, Sean Patton, And More Come to Downtown Variety, 8/6

Nat Towsen's Downtown Variety Hour is back for its 62nd show at UCB Theatre East Village Monday, August 6 at 7:30 PM with the an all-star comedy lineup! Host Nat Towsen (VICE, Nickelodeon) combines the disappearing, eclectic lower Manhattan culture in which he grew up (around the corner from the theatre, in fact) with interviews, informative presentations, and the best of the NYC comedy scene. The show features native luminaries as well as a few welcome New York transplants.

This month's edition of Downtown Variety features comedy by Baratunde Thurston (The Daily Show, The Onion) and Sean Patton (CONAN, Comedy Central's The Half Hour). Hovey Burgess and Lil' Miss Lixx will perform a burlesque act about the plight of the polar bear. Jamela Zarha Williams will host "NYC Trivia," where audience members can win free pizza and comics from sponsors Two Boots and Forbidden Planet.

Nat Towsen's Downtown Variety Hour takes place at 7:30 PM on Monday, August 6, at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre East Village, 153 East 3 Street, Manhattan, NY 10009. Admission costs $9 and patrons of all age are welcome (those 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult).
