BroadwayWorld is pleased to bring you this special video interview with LoveMusik's Book writer Alfred Uhry (Pulitzer Prizer winner for Driving Miss Daisy, Tony Award winner for Parade & The Last Night of Ballyhoo) and Director Harold Prince (21-time Tony Award winner; Cabaret, Company, The Phantom of The Opera).
The video shows Uhry and Prince discussing their inspiration behind LoveMusik, their acclaimed new musical, and telling stories about working with Tony Award-winning actors: Michael Cerveris (Assassins, Sweeney Todd) and Donna Murphy (The King and I, Passion). Inspired by the tumultuous, international, 25-year love affair between composer Kurt Weill and singer Lotte Lenya, LoveMusik features musical staging by Patricia Birch (A Little Night Music). Previews begin Thursday, April 12 for a Thursday, May 3 opening.Also featured in LoveMusik are David Pittu as Bertolt Brecht and John Scherer as George Davis, with Judith Blazer, Edwin Cahill, Herndon Lackey, Erik Liberman, Ann Morrison, Graham Rowat, Rachel Ulanet and Jessica Wright.Langston Hughes, Alan Jay Lerner, Maurice Magre, Ogden Nash, Elmer Rice and Kurt Weill.
