Five Emmy Awards and a Tony Award make multi-talented Neil Patrick Harris the perfect star for this live one-hour show that is unlike any other on American television. Anything can happen on "Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris," which will feature appearances by A-list stars, stunts, comedy skits, incredible performances, mini game shows, audience giveaways and hidden camera pranks. Based on the wildly popular British hit "Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway," this genre-busting format and its fearless star will make for one of the best nights ever on TV, week after week. Emmy Award winner Alec Baldwin serves as this week's celebrity guest announcer.

Tune in tonight (10pm ET on NBC), to catch the episode, and read on to find out what Neil Patrick Harris is up to for the second installment!

How much fun are you having so far?

I'm having an exorbitant amount of fun. It's a lot more work than I anticipated. Not to imply I thought it was going to be a walk in the park doing a show like this, but logistically it's just insane. We have segment producers that are crafting each individual segment, and when they all come together, elements don't line up sometimes. You have to figure out the most precise way to accomplish the most entertaining segment possible. That's been a very interesting learning curve.

Do the kids give you any ideas for jokes? Do you run stuff by them?

Well we're doing an 'End of the Show' show this week where it's just physically incredibly grueling and I had 3 hours of rehearsal yesterday and Saturday, and I got to bring them with me. So they got to jump on a trampoline as well. So they didn't give me any ideas per se but they got to play along!

What was last week like scaling the wall with Reese Witherspoon?

I was most nervous that she would opt out in the commercial break...so I guess Nicole [Scherzinger] would've jumped in if Reese had decided not to. Reese Witherspoon is uniformly fantastic. She beautiful, funny, a business woman...she's so talented. I was hoping she wouldn't have super fear of heights or something.

What are you enjoying the most?

It's a two-part answer. I love learning the special skills for things. I'm doing this trampoline onto a wall that I first saw Cirque du Soleil do in a show called La Nouba in Florida. It's an amazingly beautiful piece where instead of jumping straight up and down you're jumping towards a wall. It seems so simple, and in reality it is very physically challenging. I have whiplash. But I love learning- I would pay good money just to learn how to do that if they taught it as a class.

I'm also fascinated by the systems of how the show works. The immediacy is really fun for me as a producer because we do get to pow wow and have a debrief on Thursday. They give us a break the day after. We can figure out what worked and why and how can we make it better. I don't think it's in our design to start from scratch and redo again, but we certainly want to make it the most enjoyable hour for everyone who is watching.

I think it already has been!

I think it's interesting... we are at 10pm for two weeks and then we shift to 8pm. I think the 8pm move will be beneficial. I think we'll have more viewership at 10, giving that it was after the America's Got Talent finale, and THE VOICE premiere, those were giant, singular episodes. But at 8pm we get to establish tone. We get to welcome you to the primetime night and become a fun palate cleanser for the rest of your evening.
