Interview: Eric Jordan Young on Leaving VEGAS! THE SHOW to Pursue Other Projects

After more than 2,000 performances - 46 months/12 shows per week- actor/singer/dancer Eric Jordan Young has decided to leave Vegas! The Show. His last performance will be Wednesday, March 12.

He says, "Being a part of the creative process of Vegas! The Show since the spring of 2010 has been invaluable to me as an entertainer. I am proud of the production and wish it continued success for years to come.

"But," he adds, "I've decided it's time to move on. There several projects that I've created and want to do. I can only hope for support from the Las Vegas community to continue my dream of performing nightly on the Las Vegas Strip."

As a star of Vegas! The Show, Young's was named "Best Performance By A Lead Actor In A Musical" in the 2011 and 2012 Broadway World "Best of Las Vegas" poll.

In addition to performing, Young is also a director and choreographer. He serves as both for the Norwegian Cruise Lines production of The Look of Love, celebrating the music of Burt Bacharach. There are now two ships featuring the show.

Young says, "I've enjoyed working with David Saxe Productions, the cast, the crew and the incredible band led by Pat Caddick and Jerry Lopez. It has been an honor to perform onstage with some of the the best musicians and performers in town and I am forever grateful for the time we've shared. I've learned a lot as an entertainer and can only hope to create magic onstage with all of them some time again

Young has an extensive background in New York theater, appearing in the original and revival casts of Ragtime, in the original cast of Seussical and in several roles in the 1996 Broadway revival of Chicago.

"Like so many other performers who were trained in New York and who mostly worked there, I had heard about Las Vegas but, until I had the glorious opportunity to live and work here," he says, "I had no idea how wonderful this city is. I still love New York, but Las Vegas, I've learned, is really the 'Entertainment Capital of the World.'"

Next up for Young is continuing on work on his varied projects - performing, creating, directing and choreographing. "I am so excited to let people see facets of my work they may not have seen before and to continue to grow and to entertain. This is an exciting time for me."
