BWW Blog: Meet Dylan Ratell of CHICAGO in Japan

Hi Friends,

My name is Dylan Ratell and I'm currently touring Japan as Mary Sunshine with Chicago The Musical! This show is my dream come true and I can't believe I get to bring this wonderful story to such an amazing country!

I first did Chicago at a community theatre in my hometown of Bay City, Michigan when I was 18 years old. I didn't perform Chicago again until the age of 20 when I was cast as Mary Sunshine in Porthouse Theatre's production of Chicago in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. This production is where I would receive my first ever EMC points towards my Equity card! I was so excited about my new EMC status but it wasn't until the summer of 2014 that I would cross paths with the Chicago creative team who would cast me in the national/international tour of Chicago The Musical gaining me my first professional credit as well as my status as an equity member. Since that time I have been so lucky as to perform Chicago all over North America, South Korea and even a small engagement on Broadway!

This cast and show are all so special to me and I'm overjoyed knowing that we get to share this dynamic story with an audience every day. In this video I show you all what a typical day is like backstage at Chicago! So "come on babe," and watch the silliness unfold!
