Diverging Elements Theatre Co. will present the world premiere of the new musical, "Bradical and the Pink Socks", this Saturday May 6 as part of the company's fourth-anniversary celebration in partnership with Barnes and Noble Union Square.

"Bradical and the Pink Socks" is an energetic new story about self-confidence told through the eyes of a spunky young boy, Brad. When his socks accidentally change color in the laundry, he learns with his friends that any mistake can lead to something totally great!

The new musical is based on the children's book written by Melissa Rose Hirsch & Christopher Hlinka. The musical is produced and adapted by Diverging Elements Theatre Co., with Original Music by Rebekah M. Allen and Music/Vocal Arrangements by Ross Baum.

On creating the piece, Sammy Lopez, Producing Artistic Director, says "right now, art truly matters, and we are excited to share a story that can inspire a conversation about dealing with bullies. We aim to tell stories that empower young audiences and we are thrilled to debut this show as part of our theatre company's 4th birthday!"

"Bradical and the Pink Socks" will be presented on Saturday, May 6 at 11:00 AM at Barnes & Noble Union Square on the 4th Floor (33 East 17th Street). Admission is free and includes a talk-back with the authors, live music, and crafts.

The production stars Eric Meyers, Erika Peterson, Marie Eife, and Spencer Glass. Direction is by Sammy Lopez, Choreography is by ConfiDance NYC, and Music Direction is by Ross Baum with live percussion by Jordan Brooks.
