The WhiteListed Theatre Company is set to present the U.S. and English-language premiere of Biljana Sbrljanovi?'s acclaimed play Belgrade Trilogy, which will have a limited run at the 4th Street Theatre from September 7th thru September 22nd. First performed in Belgrade in 1997 and set in Prague, Sydney, Los Angeles and Belgrade, Belgrade Trilogy is a dark comedy that centers on a group of young adults continually affected by the devastation of the Serbian culture and people in the post-war era. Highlighting a series of unique and dysfunctional relationships between brothers, lovers, strangers and others, this production of Belgrade Trilogy will be directed by celebrated German director Joanna Nastassja Kastratovic and features an ensemble cast of 11 actors.

What happens when you are on the wrong side of a war? What happens when those closest to you are the ones who hurt you the most? And what happens when you hail from the social pariah of Europe? In this adaptation of Biljana Srbljanovi?'s critically acclaimed dark comedy, we encounter a group of young Serbian adults who are spread across the globe and unwittingly tied to their country's violent and war-torn past. In search of a better life, they all decided to leave their homeland and family behind, fleeing to the Czech Republic, Australia, and the United States. But for these naïve and complex characters, the reality is, the grass isn't always greener on the other side and a troubled past will follow you anywhere.

The cast of Belgrade Trilogy will feature Iva Valkova, Kate Hoffman, Jess Loudon, Samantha Slater, Vanina Kondova, Benjamin Watson, Sawyer Avery, Alexander Ristov, Luka Mijatovic, Gavin Haag and Theo Petelov.

The creative team includes Alexandra Clayton (Assistant Director), Jivko Dumanov (Designer), AdriAna Milanova (Original Music) and Nikoleta Despodova (Photography). Kate Hoffman and Theo Petelov serve as Artistic Directors of The WhiteListed Theatre Company and also translated the original text for this production, and Alexandra Alcocer serves as Director of Development for the company. The WhiteListed Theatre Company is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a nonprofit arts service organization.

Belgrade Trilogy will run at the 4th Street Theatre (83 East 4th Street) from September 7th thru September 22nd with performances Tuesdays-Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 3pm and 8pm (there is no Sunday evening show on 9/9). Tickets, priced at $25, can be purchased online at www.WhiteListedTheatre.com.
