Pioneer of the Imaginary Realisim movement, Daniel Merriam, opens his latest exhibit at Animazing Gallery (54 Greene Street at Broome) with a reception on Thursday, May 20th 6-9PM.  The exhibit features collections of monumental paintings seven to eight feet tall will open on May 21 and runs through September 5.  For information call 212.226.7374 or visit www.animazing.com.  The collection will go live online after 7pm on Thursday, May 20th at www.animazing.com.

Daniel Merriam's imagination is unsurpassed in a world where playfulness and beauty are everything. Widely renowned as one of the world's best watercolorists, Merriam emerged on the art scene in his early 20's, and has captured the hearts and curiosity of collectors worldwide. His paintings have been in museum exhibitions around the world, and his published works and books are at home in many important private collections.

Animazing Gallery represents great American illustrators, animation art, fine art and sculpture that is inspired by color and whimsy. The permanent collection includes original and graphic works by Dr. Seuss, Charles M. Schulz, Maurice Sendak, Daniel Merriam, Disney, Warner Bros., Tim Burton, Tom Everhart, Ralph Bakshi, Bill Watterson & more. Located in SoHo, New York and within the Chateau de Belcastel in the Aveyron, France.
