Andrew Lippa Performs in Stephen Wise Free Synagogue Concert Feb.10

Andrew Lippa" border="0" height="375" hspace="10" src="https://cloudimages.broadwayworld.com/upload/14257/j2.jpg" title="Andrew Lippa " vspace="10" width="250"/>Free and open to the public, the Stephen Wise Free Synagogue presents "Our Tradition, Our Torah, Our Future" - the major Centennial concert, includes a musical journey from the inception of SWFS until the present day and into future, featuring past and present musical forces of the synagogue. The concert will be held Sunday February 10 at 7PM.

All of the featured musicians including our Shabbat Band, Adult Choir, Youth Choir, Professional Choir, and other special musical guests will play a role in this exciting celebration. One should expect to see members of the old professional choir (some of them former singers at the Metropolitan Opera) in attendance as well as a new piece of Jewish music composed by and featuring the voice of Andrew Lippa, the renowned Broadway composer.

Andrew Lippa is currently penning the music and lyrics for a new musical based on Jules Feiffer's The Man in the Ceiling, which is being produced by Disney Theatrical for Broadway. He wrote the music for the world premiere of Aaron Sorkin's new play The Farnsworth Invention, as well as for Asphalt Beach, among many others. Lippa has been music director for Kristin Chenoweth since 1999. Additionally, he is an accomplished singer having been heard in min many venues in New York and, in 2005, as a guest artist at the Adelaide Cabaret Convention in Adelaide, Australia.
