Tonight and tomorrow night at 8pm, at the historic Crest Theatre (51 North Swinton Ave.) in DelRay Beach, Florida, the series created, written and hosted by Scott Siegel for Town Hall will begin a new life on the road. The first national company of "Broadway by the Year," starring Nancy Anderson, Scott Coulter and Mary Testa, will be performing the first ever "Broadway by the Year" concerts outside of Town Hall.

Designed to travel to venues all over the country, the national company of BBTY features music not just from one year but from two, providing audiences with one famous Broadway show tune after another. The first act features the great songs from 1930, including such standards as "Body and Soul," "Ten Cents a Dance," "Embraceable You," etc. The second act jumps to 1964 and features songs from Funny Girl, Fiddler on the Roof, Hello, Dolly!, etc.

Producer Scott Siegel said, "I've always thought that 'Broadway by the Year' should and would have a life outside of New York City. Audiences all over the country are hungry for Broadway music performed by people who know what it's all about. The success of such touring concerts as Bravo Broadway strongly suggest that 'BBTY' will soon be playing all over the country. And I certainly believe we're getting the best possible launch by having three gifted 'Broadway by the Year' veterans taking this show on the road to one of South Florida's most admired venues, the Crest Theatre. I'm confident that the Crest audience -- and future audiences elsewhere -- will have a wonderful time when they get to experience 'Broadway by the Year' for themselves."

When asked if he was performing/hosting in these out of town shows, as he does at Town Hall, Siegel said ruefully, "I would love to be part of these shows but the economics don't support it. I've produced and written it, but my speaking parts have been artfully (I hope) distributed among the cast members to say. I'm pleased to add, though, that 'Broadway by the Year's' Musical Director, Ross Patterson, is playing the show at the Crest. In other words, the show is in good hands from top to bottom."
