AT FIRST SIGHT (AND OTHER STORIES) Presented by Broken Box Mime Theatre, 11/7-23

When was the last time you left a theatre feeling invigorated? When was the last time you connected with the art and the artists in a deep, almost spiritual manner? Have you ever?

At First Sight (and Other Stories) is an innovative and exciting program born from the collective creativity of Broken Box Mime Theater (BKBX). The fine art of story-telling is infused with important contemporary themes and classic mime techniques to create a live stage show that opens the mind, touches the soul, and awakens the imagination.

At First Sight (and Other Stories) is a 90-minute compilation of vignettes created especially for this production along with encores of some of the company's most acclaimed works - all written, directed, and performed by the BKBX ensemble. Expect a journey of the mind that takes you from stories of epic adventure to intimate and genuine moments of everyday life. You'll be astonished by how these silent stories can bring you to encounter your deepest dreams and secrets.

The PREMIERES for the evening include (Working Titles):

PATTERN: A piece rich in movement technique, this vignette serves as an inventive observation of our chameleon tendencies when seeking closeness in relationships.

WILD WEST: BKBX takes you on an electrifying adventure to the Wild Wild West!

MUGGER: The best of BKBX's wonderfully bizarre humor, this piece provides an outlandishly fun romp with an unusual burglar.

The ENCORES include:

SOME DAY (originally presented at the Abington's June Havoc Theater) paints the picture of an old man transported by the memories housed in his favorite record;

RESERVOIR (a Fringe Festival premiere) personifies inner struggle and the battle one faces to conquer it;

FIFTH WHEEL (also an Abington premiere) finds two happy couples on a double date - plus an unexpected solo friend! Uproarious!

Take the Journey Thursdays through Saturdays, November 7 through 9, 14 through 16, and 21 through 23 at 7:30 p.m. Special Matinees: November 9, 16, and 23 @ 2:00 p.m.
