(3/10) - After much hype and controversy, LOVE NEVER DIES opened tonight, 9 March, in London at the Adelphi Theatre. Previews began on 22 February. LOVE NEVER DIES stars Sierra Boggess and Ramin Karimloo with direction by Jack O'Brien. The show will subsequently open in New York on November 11, 2010 and then in Australia in 2011. The word in London is that the premiere delivered the splashiest opening night party in West End history, with the party venue being turned into Coney Island. (7/31) - Stage and screen star Judi Dench paid special tribute to Stephen Sondheim on July 31, 2010 as part of the Sondheim at 80 BBC Proms event, celebrating the composer's 80th birthday. Dench performed her rendition of "Send In the Clowns" from A Little Night Music, which she claims to be "hugely exciting" but "daunting."

(7/9) - As BroadwayWorld reported earlier today, the Tony Awards may take up residence at the United Palace Theatre in Washington Heights (175th and Broadway) for the 2011 ceremony, now that their 13 year occupation of Radio City Music Hall in midtown is complete. (Radio City will be occupied with a Cirque du Soliel production during Tony time next year). While the American Theatre Wing and The Broadway League, who present the Tonys, have not yet released an official statement on the move, published reports suggest that CBS, the Tonys broadcasting network, has confirmed the 3,400+ seat United Palace Theatre as the new ceremony space.
