'110 in the Shade' Starts Previews April 13

Roundabout Theatre Company's (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) production of 110 in the Shade will begin previews Friday, April 13th at 8:00 PM. The romantic musical stars Audra McDonald (Lizzie Curry), Tony Award winner John Cullum (H. C. Curry) and Steve Kazee (Starbuck), and officially opens Wednesday, May 9th, 2007, at Studio 54 (254 West 54th Street). This is a limited engagement through July 15th, 2007.

Press releases describe the show, "In the middle of a heat wave in 1930's Texas, when everyone is longing for rain, or a breeze, Lizzie Curry (McDonald) is on the verge of becoming a hopeless old maid. Her wit, intelligence and skills as a homemaker can't Make Up For the fact that she can't find true love. Even the town sheriff, for whom she harbors a secret yen, won't take a chance. However, when a charismatic rainmaker named Starbuck (Kazee) enters the town and her family's life, Lizzie's world is turned upside down."

Written by N. Richard Nash, Harvey Schmidt and Tom Jones, the Roundabout Production of 110 in the Shade is directed by Lonny Price.

110 in the Shade
plays Tuesday—Saturday evenings at 8:00PM, with Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2:00PM. Tickets are available by calling Roundabout Ticket Services at (212) 719-1300, online at www.roundabouttheatre.org or at the Studio 54 Box Office (254 West 54th Street). Ticket prices range from $36.25-$111.25.
