Up & Down Theatre's WINNING THE FUTURE to Return to Santa Fe This Fall
Up & Down Theatre Company will present their satirical musical cabaret Winning the Future at The Adobe Rose Theatre Thursday, October 20th through Sunday, November 6th, 2016. Performances will take place Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 pm, and Sunday's at 3:00 pm.
Written by and starring Kate Chavez and Lindsey Hope Pearlman alongside Santa Fe jazz piano favorite Robin Holloway, Winning the Future is equal parts political satire, sketch comedy, and musical theatre. A playful, eclectic evening of original sketches and songs about America- where we are, and where we're headed. Three performers examine the political, economic and social circumstances of our times in a hilarious take on what it means to be American in 2016.
"In such a bizarre election year, there's no shortage of inspiration for a political comedy show," says Pearlman.
The Santa Fe- based trio's comedic, musical send up of Donald Trump's campaign slogan MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN recently went viral on Facebook and YouTube, earning more than 2.5 million views. The video was shared by the distribution platform Occupy Democrats, and is a finalist in the MoveOn.org Laughter Trumps Hate Competition.
