White Castle Multi-Arm Wrestling Series Kicks-Off at Bronx Week Fest 5/22

The New York Arm Wrestling Association (NYAWA) announced today that the Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. and Bronx Week Food and Arts Festival will host the White Castle 28th Annual Bronxboro Arm Wrestling Championships on Sunday, May 22, 2011 at 1 p.m. The event will take place at the Bronx Week Food and Arts Festival on the Main Stage at Mosholu Parkway North at Hull Ave. Bronx, NY. 10458. General admission is free. The event consists of both pro and amateur categories for men and women. Entry fees are $25 for Pros and $20 for Amateurs who are NYAWA veteran-members and includes a free White Castle Arm Wrestling T-shirt. Entry is free for teen boys and girls 13 to 17, novice beginners and curious, brave festival spectators. There are no residency requirements and contestants are encouraged to register/weigh-in early. "We are proud to welcome some of strongest athletes to the Bronx Week Festival to showcase their talents in the sport of arm wrestling," said Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. "Spectators will have the opportunity to witness incredible feats of strength while walking through one the Bronx largest food and arts festivals."

The White Castle Bronxboro Arm Wrestling Championships is the first Borough Championship of the multi-event White Castle NY Golden Arm Series where individual events are held in each of the five NYC Boroughs, and Long Island and culminates into the 34th AnnuAl White Castle Empire State Golden Arm Tournament of Champions to be held on November 17, 2011 at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in NYC. The competition will be dividend into seven weight classes for men and three for women. Awards will be given for first to third place and $100 cash prizes will be given to Bronx Strongest male and female.
