Singing superstar Jason Donovan joins the cast of Richard O’Brien’s legendary rock ‘n’ roll musical the Rocky Horror Show, to star as Frank ‘n’ Furter in the 2024/2025 UK tour.

After a sold-out presentation of Act 1 as part of MTFestUK 2024, the new musical REDCLIFFE will return with public workshop performances that offer a first look at the full show from Wed 29 – Fri 31 May at The Other Palace Studio.

Singer-songwriter and choreographer Todrick Hall will join the London cast of Shrek the Musical, which will run at the iconic Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith for six weeks only from 19 July – 31 August 2024, hot off the heels of a major UK Tour. 

Gillian Cosgriff: Actually, Good begins with Cosgriff performing using a looper pedal, with backwards vocals and some chords from the onstage keyboard. She gives us context for several things in order to understand the show, including that the Whitsundays are islands and Australians like to make touristy things that are “big” like the “Big Prawn.”

Nikolai Gogol's 1836 satire The Government Inspector caused a stir for calling out the Russian government's corruption. It's easy to see why Peter Myers wanted to bring its relevant story to the stage two centuries later, but the biting commentary under the silliness is lost in translation in this chaotic production in spite of the talent onstage.

Studio Ghibli’s Oscar-winning Spirited Away, created by legendary animator and director Hayao Miyazaki is re-imagined for the stage by Olivier and Tony award-winning director of Les Misérables, John Caird. The original Japanese cast perform this extraordinary production with wildly imaginative puppets, dazzling set and costume designs and a live orchestra playing the magnificent original film score by Joe Hisaishi.

Hayao Miyazaki’s legacy is one for the ages. The co-founder of Studio Ghibli revolutionised the Western consumption of anime and set a new standard for Japanese animated films. London isn’t a stranger to the stage adaptations of his creations: a major example is My Neighbour Totoro, which took up shop at the Barbican to great acclaim last year and has already announced a West End run for next year. Theatre projects based on popular Asian media have been garnering excellent success recently, with manga-turned-anime-turned-musicals Death Note and Your Lie in April both receiving stellar reviews and steady audience support, so it isn’t a surprise that producers are riding the wave. It’s finally time for another Miyazaki classic to have its moment.
