The Daily Mail writes that West End and Broadway vet Rafe Spall is in final talks to join his father, Timothy Spall, in Harold Pinter's THE CARETAKER, directed by Matthew Warchus at the Old Vic next year.

This would be the first time the father and son would act together onstage, with Rafe up for the role of 'Aston'.

Spall last appeared on Broadway in BETRAYAL in 2013. He has starred in CONSTELLATIONS, ALASKA and JUST A BLOKE at the Royal Court, IF THERE IS I HAVEN'T FOUND IT YET at the Bush, HELLO AND GOODBYE with English Touring Theatre, JOHN GABRIEL BORKMAN at the Donmar, THE KNIGHT OF BURNING PESTLE at the Young Vic and later the Barbican, and A PRAYER FOR OWEN MEANY at the National.

The Old Vic just announced its first season under Warchus, featuring an eclectic programme ranging from a newly-adapted Ibsen classic starring Ralph Fiennes to the world premiere of a new musical, GROUNDHOG DAY, with new commissions and more.
