My Fair Lady dances into the Crucible Theatre this Christmas, rounding off Sheffield Theatres' autumn season in spectacular style from Wednesday 12 December 2012 – Saturday 26 January 2013.

Artistic Director Daniel Evans (Othello, Macbeth) brings this new staging to life on the Crucible stage. My Fair Lady tells the timely story of a chance encounter between a lowly London flower girl and a phonetics professor which changes both their lives forever. Dominic West (Othello) returns to Sheffield Theatres to play Professor Higgins opposite Carly Bawden (The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe,) as Eliza Doolittle.

Sheffield Theatres' Artistic Director Daniel Evans said: 'It's a pleasure to work on such a brilliant, witty, well-crafted musical, based on the play by George Bernard Shaw. Everyone is familiar with the story and sensational songs and I can't wait to welcome our audiences through the doors for the ultimate family Christmas treat.'

The partnership of Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe created some of the most popular and enduring Musical Theatre Works both for the stage and screen. In addition to My Fair Lady, their multi-award-winning works together also included Life of the Party, Brigadoon, Paint Your Wagon, Camelot and Gigi.

Joining the Creative Team alongside Daniel Evans are Designer Paul Wills, Choreographer Alistair David, Musical Director Nigel Lilley, Lighting Designer Tim Mitchell, Sound Designer Simon Baker and Dialect Coach Richard Ryder.

Tickets for My Fair Lady are on sale now from Sheffield Theatres' Box Office, priced from £17.00 - £30.00. Call 0114 249 6000 or visit sheffieldtheatres.co.uk to book.
