It's been said your wedding day is supposed to be the best day of your life......so naturally, it's the perfect opportunity for everything that can go wrong to go wrong, which is precisely what happens in the Washington County Playhouse debut production of Perfect Wedding.

Written by Robin Hawdon and directed by Shawn R. Martin, Perfect Wedding is the story of one wedding day gone hysterically astray. When Bill, the groom, wakes up on his wedding morning lying next to a woman who is definitely not his bride-to-be, and Bill has no memory of meeting her the previous night, complications arise. Now Bill and Tom, Bill's best man, have to quickly come up with some solutions and even more explanations to maintain Bill's perfect wedding before the bride and the bridal party arrive!

While working together to create the most hectic wedding day ever, the small ensemble cast quickly bonded onstage and off stage.

"I felt freedom to create my character and was never afraid to make a specific acting choice. The people make the difference! Friendships were made quickly and, as a small cast, we were able to bond with each other quite easily" said Anne Hunt, who plays the bride, Rachel.

"The sense of family we've established and importance we've put on cast bonding is a great feeling. You're not just going to work, you're going to play with friends" said Matthew Crawford, who plays the groom, Bill.

"The most enjoyable aspect about rehearsals is definitely the cast. We all have become super close friends. We constantly have each other cracking up at rehearsals and the level of talent is incredible" said Shannen Banzhoff, who plays Judy.

"I wasn't familiar with this show at all, but the first time I read the script I was laughing out loud at almost every single page. Watching the rest of the cast bring it to life is incredibly funny and fun" said Jules Happy Rone, who plays Daphne, the mother of the bride.

The cast had to work closely together to establish the frantic pace of this modern day wedding farce.

"It's a quick paced, farcical comedy so there are a lot of lines and they all go by really quickly. It's been fun and challenging to get everything up to the speed and pace that it needs to be to truly nail the performance" said Banzhoff.

"Making sure we have the fast paced back and forth that goes hand in hand with a farce was challenging..... and keeping track of the toilet brush" said Crawford.

"The fast-paced, quick lines proved to be a challenge in this show. The phrasing is so specific yet so common that it's easy to make a mistake and get off track. But once the lines are fully committed to memory the other elements just start to click" said Hunt.

The Perfect Wedding cast is ready to share this unusually hilarious wedding with an audience.

"The show is so uproariously funny that it's impossible to leave without a smile on your face. There are some really sweet and sentimental moments in the show. Audiences will also easily be able to identify with the characters because everybody knows a Bill or a Rachel or a Judy. These characters are real people who just happen to get themselves caught up in crazy circumstances" said Banzhoff.

"Perfect Wedding is the "perfect" show for a fun night out. It's an amusing comedy which both the audience and the actors enjoy!" added Hunt.

"It's a good laugh at how one lie can snowball to become a slew of ridiculous situations and mistaken understandings. Everyone is scrambling to make sure nothing else goes wrong which just makes matters hilariously worse" said Crawford

"There are enough things in life to be stressed over. Why not RSVP to Bill and Rachel's wedding and spend a few hours laughing at the mix-ups that can happen during one perfect wedding day?" said Rone

Perfect Wedding also features Rennes Carbaugh as Tom and Kaitlyn Marie Lamkin as Julie. Perfect Wedding runs May 6, 7, 13, 14, 27 and 28 and June 10, 11, 24 and 25, with one Sunday matinee on May 15. Dinner hour will begin at 6:00 with the show shortly following at approximately 7:45 for evening performances and lunch hour for the matinee performances begins at 1:00 with the show following at approximately 2:30.
