Patricia Heaton Headed Off Broadway in 'The Scene'

Variety reports that Everybody Loves Raymond star Patricia Heaton will star Off Broadway this winter in the Second Stage Production of "The Scene." More casting, which is expected to include some vets of the show's previous Humana incarnation (of which Heaton didn't take part) are expected shortly.

Barrymore Award-winner Rebecca Taichman (Green Violin in Philadelphia) will helm The Scene, a new play by Theresa Rebeck (The Family of Mann, Spike Heels).  Originally announced to begin previews in February of 2007, it will now start its run on December 12th and open on January 11th.  "Using the surreal world of Manhattan party-goers as its background, The Scene is a shrewd and bitter comedy about the empty narcissism of American pop culture."
