A. R. Gurney's LOVE LETTERS will be performed by Cathy Walsh and Tim Barden on Sunday, March 28, as a fund-raiser for Middlebury's Town Hall Theater. The event begins as a reception in a lovely Cornwall home, with delicious refreshments. Then Walsh and Barden will perform the play in this intimate setting.

Two longtime friends read the letters they have exchanged over the course of their lives. It's a simple premise for a play, but in A. R. Gurney's hands it becomes a masterwork that is charming, humorous, and remarkably touching.

The performers are best known for their singing. Both are part of Encore!, the popular Vermont quartet that's been singing Broadway music for over 25 years. Here, these talented performers get a chance to set aside the music and explore two clever, complex characters.

LOVE LETTERS will be performed in a private Cornwall home on Sunday, March 28, at 4 pm. Tickets are available at www.townhalltheater.org, 802 382-9222, or at the THT Box Office (Mon-Sat, noon-5 pm). Tickets for the reception and performance are $25.
