The Metropolitan Opera's new production of The Enchanted Island will be broadcast at Middlebury's Town Hall Theater on Saturday, January 21.

Joyce DiDonato, Placido Domingo, and David Daniels star in this production, based on the forgotten operatic tradition of the pastiche. Arias and ensembles from Handel, Vivaldi, Rameau and other Baroque greats are interpolated into a new plot, a fanciful intertwining of A Midsummer Night's Dream and The Tempest.

The production is directed and designed by Phelim McDermott and Julian Crouch.

The Enchanted Island will be broadcast at Middlebury's Town Hall Theater on Saturday, January 21, at 1 pm. Tickets are $24, and THT is pleased to announce that student tickets are only $10. They may be purchased at www.townhalltheater.org, 382-9222, at the THT Box Office, or at the door.
