Bilston Operatic Company return to Wolverhampton Grand Theatre this November with A CHRISTMAS CAROL following the huge success of last year's production of Our House and 2015's Hairspray. The festive musical, featuring the music of Alan Menken (Disney's Beauty And The Beast, Aladdin, Tangled, The Little Mermaid) will open on Tuesday 21 November.

The Charles Dickens story is given the full Broadway treatment and follows Ebenezer Scrooge - a prosperous curmudgeon who believes that personal wealth is far more valuable than the happiness and comfort of others. With an infuriated "Bah! Humbug!" Scrooge summates his feelings of Christmas tidings and charitable giving, but he's forced to face his selfish ways when three ghosts on Christmas Eve lead him through his Past, Present and Future.

Pictured in the role of Ebenezer Scrooge is Nicholas Sullivan. Alastair Smith will play Bob Cratchit and Amy Frost is Mrs Cratchit.

Bilston Operatic Company are now calling for young actors to come forward and audition for the role of the Cratchit's son, Tiny Tim next week on Monday 17 July. Boys must have a playing age of 7 - 9 years old. Rehearsals for successful actors will be on Mondays and some Thursdays. For full information on the auditions, please contact Sarah Houghton at bilstonoperatic@hotmail.co.uk.

Bilston Operatic Company, established in 1927, performed annually at The Theatre Royal in Bilston for 30 years before moving to the Grand Theatre where they have performed ever since. Productions in recent years have included Hairspray (2015), Peter Pan (2014), Annie (2013) and Hello Dolly (2012). The society also has a youth company for younger members.

Tickets for A CHRISTMAS CAROL are now on sale from the Grand Theatre Box Office, by calling 01902 42 92 12 or online at grandtheatre.co.uk.
