Scottish audiences will get the chance to sample the work of recently appointed Traverse Artistic Director, Orla O'Loughlin, with the Scottish Premiere of FOR ONCE by Tim Price which runs from the 4th to the 14th of April.

This production from Pentabus Theatre opened at Hampstead Theatre in 2011, before being re-mounted in a national tour in association with Sherman Cymru.

FOR ONCE is the first full-length play by the Welsh stage and television writer Tim Price. The Traverse will also stage an immersive live theatre event by Tim, DEMOS, inspired by the Occupy movement, as part of the Theatre's WRITE HERE NEW WRITING FESTIVAL (24 April). Elsewhere in April, his play THE RADICALISATION OF BRADLEY MANNING opens as one of the highlights of National Theatre Wales current season.

Life, love and loss in a picture postcard town are laid bare in this tender, heart breaking and darkly comic new play. Through a series of interweaving accounts, For Once cuts to the heart of a family, and a community, turned upside down by tragedy.

For Once was born out of one of Pentabus Theatre's writer's weeks. Director Orla O'Loughlin explains, "During these weeks we invite writers to come and explore a local issue with us. These have found us, amongst other things, out in the wilds following a fox hunt, witnessing life in an abbatoir and working shifts in a Michelin-starred kitchen."

Fast approaching its 40th birthday Pentabus Theatre continues to pioneer new work that explores the connections between people and places.
