The Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury, is encouraging everyone to vote for it in the UK's Most Welcoming Theatre Award.

Presented by UK Theatre, the annual UK Theatre Awards are the only nationwide awards to honour creative excellence and the outstanding achievement seen on and off stage.

Mark Everett, The Marlowe Theatre's Director, said: "We receive regular feedback from our many customers and touring companies about the efficiency and friendliness of our staff. It would be good if, as well as telling us, people tell the organisers of the competition!"

To vote for The Marlowe Theatre in My Theatre Matters! UK's Most Welcoming Theatre Award, go to www.mytheatrematters.com/surveys/south-east, or via the UK Theatre website. Voting closes on Monday 29 September.

To ensure a fair and competitive process, the public voting system will be partially weighted by theatre capacity to ensure smaller venues have an equal chance of winning as large theatres.

The winner will be announced at the annual UK Theatre Awards ceremony at London's Guildhall on Sunday 19 October.
