Artistic Director, Steve Marmion has announced the next season at Soho Theatre; with a vibrant and packed programme spanning Theatre, Comedy and Cabaret performed across three performane spaces (and the seminar room).

Theatre: 18 New Plays

The behind the scenes world of British football moves centre stage in Georgia Fitch's new
play FIT AND PROPER PEOPLE, directed by Steve Marmion, presented in association with the RSC.

Set in the world of Championship football, FIT AND PROPER PEOPLE takes a hard look at our beautiful game. Transforming the theatre into a football stadium with real turf, floodlights and constant media coverage, Georgia Fitch exposes the backstage dealings that manufacture our national heroes and addresses the very topical question of who is running our social and cultural instituations.

Georgia Fitch is joint Writer in Residence at the Bush Theatre. Fitch's other plays include: Dirty Dirty Princess (National Theatre, Connections); I like Mine with a Kiss (Bush Theatre); Adrenalin...Heart (Bush Theatre and Tokyo InterNational Theatre Festival) and Arrivals (Old Red Lion). Steve Marmion's first season as Artistic Director of Soho Theatre began in May 2011; his credits at Soho Theatre include Anthony Neilson's Realism, Ed Harris' Mongrel Island and Anthony Neilson's much acclaimed Edward Gant's Amazing Feats of Loneliness. Tom Piper is the RSC Associate Designer, for the RSC he has designed over thirty productions including the History Cycle and Macbeth, which reopened the new RST in Stratford.

An unlikely couple: Ruby is funny and gawkily attractive, Jack a bit of a scruff but cocky. When they were together she let him walk all over her, but now Ruby looks great, is full of confidence and has a new lover, Keith, who she is about to emigrate to America with. But will her feelings for Jack return when she decides to meet him one last time...

Rob Young's enchanting new play with songs about four individuals on the search for true love is presented in collaboration with producer Graham Cowley and directors Ian Talbot OBE and Tricia Thorns' theatre company Two's Company, which they re-launched in 2003 with a series of critically acclaimed plays about the First World War.

Directed by Tricia Thorns whose credits include My Real War 1914-? (Trafalgar Studios and tour), Red Night (Finborough), What The Women Did (Southwark Playhouse), Forgotten Voices from the Great War (Pleasance), as well as a long acting career. Music by composer Ross Lorraine, whose theatre work includes Whistling Psyche (Almeida Theatre) and The Old Man and the Sea (Riverside Studios) with his classical and contemporary music having been performed in festivals throughout Europe, the USA and the Far East. Rob Young's theatre work includes; Surfing and Obsession (Battersea Arts Centre); The Man with the Absurdly Large Penis (Young Vic) and The Shoe Shop of Desire (Battersea Arts Centre). His first feature film, Miranda, starred John Hurt, Christina Ricci and Kyle MacLachlan, it premiered at Sundance and won the Audience Award at London's Raindance Film Festival.

As they play, they leave a trail of their own and the Huntsman sets dogs off to chase them down.
