Shoreditch Town Hall today announces that theatre-maker Greg Wohead, whose new show Comeback Special runs at the Town Hall from 22 - 26 March (press night 24 March), has joined the organisation as an Associate Artist. He has previously performed The Ted Bundy Project at Shoreditch Town Hall and now returns with the world première of Comeback Special, a solo re-enactment of Elvis Presley's 1968 Comeback Special. Expect jam sessions, patter with a Southern drawl, big dance numbers and a bit of sweat as Wohead brings some Memphis magic to East London.

James Pidgeon, Head of Programme and Producing, said today, 'Having supported Greg's projects in a number of ways over the past few years, including the presentation of a sell-out run of The Ted Bundy Project in May 2014 and co-commissioning his latest piece, Comeback Special, we're delighted that he has agreed to become an associate of Shoreditch Town Hall. Asking big questions in intimate contexts, constantly challenging audiences, and always pushing at the boundaries of form and content, Greg is an artist who creates bold, invigorating and generous work; work that's meticulously judged and full of heart. Supporting original and adventurous artists in the development of new work is a major part of what we do here at the Town Hall and so we cannot wait to further our relationship with Greg as an associate for many more years to come.'

Greg Wohead said, "I couldn't be more excited to become an Associate Artist with Shoreditch Town Hall. They've been incredibly supportive of my work in the past, and I look forward to continuing that relationship through working in their beautiful spaces and with their supportive staff."

Wohead is a UK-based writer, performer and live artist originally from Texas. He makes theatre performances, one-to-one pieces and audio work. He has shown and developed new work in the UK and internationally at places like Battersea Arts Centre, Bristol Old Vic Ferment, MC (Amsterdam), Orchard Project (New York), MAKE (Ireland), Bios (Athens), LAX Festival (Los Angeles), Ovalhouse, Mayfest, Shoreditch Town Hall, Forest Fringe and The Yard, where he is an Artistic Associate. His most recent critically acclaimed solo performance, The Ted Bundy Project, has toured nationally and internationally. In 2014 he was shortlisted for a Total Theatre Award at the Edinburgh Fringe for Hurtling, an outdoor performance for one.
