Sheffield Theatres has announced the appointment of six new Trustees to its Board who will take up their new roles over the course of this year.

The new Trustees join Sheffield Theatres following another successful year. The company received four awards at the UK Theatre Awards before retaining the title of Regional Theatre of the Year in The Stage Awards for an unprecedented second year. In July, the organisation will refurbish the Lyceum Theatre in a £1.9 million project. Sheffield Theatres has secured funding from the Arts Council England and Sheffield City Council and is now raising the remaining funds through public donations and trusts and foundations.

Neil Adleman, Chair of Sheffield Theatres' Board said: 'I am delighted to welcome these six local professionals to join the Board. The quality of the applicants was outstanding and I am thrilled that we have attracted such a diverse and talented group to join the Trustees. With inspiring and decisive leadership, Sheffield Theatres has placed itself at the forefront of regional theatre and with this strong Board of Trustees in place, I believe we will continue to do so.'
