The fourth and final of Lucy Parham's composer portraits in this series tells of the tender, but volatile relationship between Frédéric Chopin and the novelist George Sand. Dame Harriet Walter & Alex Jennings join Lucy on stage to read extracts from the lovers' letters and diaries, counterpointed with some of Chopin's best-loved works.

A post-concert Q and A will be hosted by Radio 3's Sean Rafferty

Acknowledged as one of Britain's finest pianists, Lucy Parham is renowned not only for her concertos and recitals, but also her portraits in words and music of such composers as Schumann, Chopin, Liszt and Debussy. The CD of Nocturne - The Romantic Life of Frédéric Chopin (with Samuel West and Harriet Walter) has been released by Deux Elles.

"Lucy Parham's trailblazing evening concerts in which she fuses music and words with the help of some of our most distinguished thespians, have become one of the must-see events on the musical calendar." BBC Music Magazine April 2014

Harriet Walter is currently playing King Henry in the Donmar's production of Henry IV.

Alex Jennings is starring as Willy Wonka in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
